in Canada – is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic, talented team. We are expanding our application platforms that are SOC 2 (Service Organization Control 2) compliant combining the best physical and digital elements—migrating existing applications and building new websites and extensions for our clients.

Our application platform is a start-up within an agency. Located on King West, Toronto, Canada.

Job Description

The DevOps Engineer will be part of an Agile (Full Stack) development team, responsible for managing and maintaining existing SOC 2 application deployment pipelines and setting new deployment standards on AWS. Establish and foster relationships within HUMANCONTACT’s leadership team and keep stakeholders updated throughout the process. The ideal candidate will work with the Digital Lead to help make architectural recommendations/decisions on various software platforms. To play an integral part in establishing and evangelizing new deployment standards within AWS cloud applications that ensure visibility and velocity while satisfying engineering team requirements and needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • AWS maintenance, monitoring, support, and security updates of existing Linux environment to support the HUMANCONTACT team and application platforms
  • Existing AWS & Linux environment management of instances (examples, access management of instances, data protection of instances, security remediation patching)
  • Self-starter with the ability to balance multiple well-defined tasks simultaneously
  • Participate in team Agile practises, including daily standups, touch-bases, planning, and retrospectives
  • Maintain high software quality standards within the team by establishing good practices and habits
  • Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web- and desktop-based business applicationsbuilt on the LAMP Stack
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of user requirements

Core Competencies

  • 3+ years of experience in Cyber Security roles with a preference in engineering.
  • Experience or knowledge working with industry-standard regulations and compliance frameworks Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) and Vanta (automated security and compliance platform)
  • Experience in a public cloud is required (AWS, Azure)
  • WordPress experience would be nice to have
  • Experience as an Integration Engineer in different stages of SDLC (Software Development Process)
  • Experience in LAMP Stack development using a PHP framework, Laravel, and GitHub
  • Understanding of relational database (SQL) development techniques and theories
  • Experience in systems or network administration is preferred.
  • Experience working with industry-standard regulations and compliance frameworks
  • College or University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Establish and maintain security practices for the operation of our data center environments
  • Understanding of the middleware technologies Google Firestore/Firebase, AWS Interactive Video Service, GitHub integration with CodeDeploy/CodePipeline and basic database technologies
  • Support development team on deployments
  • Customer solution implementation and operational support
  • Establish and maintain internal operational processes
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum
  • Experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization
  • Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
  • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
